Kick off the FIFA 2014 World Cup Celebrations with the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex this Summer!

First you must know what the world cup is.

1. a sports competition between teams from several countries, in particular an international soccer tournament held every four years.

 This tournament began in 1930 and has been a competitive tradition every four years with the exception of 1942 and 1946 due to the Second World War. The current tournament consists of 32 teams who compete over the three years to qualify for the World Cup.  This year the opening day of the World Cup falls on Thursday June 12^th. YES, that is tomorrow. 

WISC specializes in so many soccer programs such as the 1^st Touch Soccer Academy,Recreational Soccer, Tidewater Sharks Competitive Club, Adult Indoor Soccer and the Summer 7-a-side. We are so excited about this tournament that we have come up with a few really awesome programs this summer to celebrate!!

The first program is the World Cup Summer7-a-side Soccer League that starts this week for ages 15+.  Games will take place Friday and Saturday night on the outdoor turf field located at the Warhill Sports Complex.  We are still accepting online registration. For the younger soccer lovers, WISC and the Tidewater Sharks Club are now registering for the Friday Night World Cup Futsal League.  This 7 game league will have 22 minute halves with 5 players. Then to top it off, WISC Family Festival’s theme this year is WISC Around the World Cup and Mad Dash 5K and Fun Run. August 2^nd we invite everyone in the community to join the race then stop in at the WISC for three hours of FREE fun.
